Update 2-17-10
SNOWBALL - We now are over $7,000 from your generous donations from the Hustle for Haiti. However, we are told that the run/walk fund raiser has blossomed into other avenues for donation that will soon exceed $25,000! Subject: Hustle for Haiti Run/Walk Report
Wow! What a beautiful January day last Sunday was! You people are beautiful and your care and love shone brightly on this cold and overcast day. We had 200 brave souls hit the course and about 40 volunteers assist.
We don’t have a final total as far as funds raised yet because many pledges are still coming. We already have over $5,000 which I think is quite remarkable. All of these funds will be used undiluted to buy meds, food, and urgent assistance for the Haitians. And yes, we are still accepting donations.
I still have custom certificates available for both participants and volunteers. They are available in my office, (room 109 in the O’Leary Building,) or contact me at rgunn@swmich.edu. I know that we need to get a lot of volunteers their certificates.
This will also be last call to order a t-shirt. Please send your size to me ASAP as we want to get this re-order processed. The cost is $12 plus $1 if you need it mailed.
I also want to take this opportunity to thank some organizations who provided excellent assistance in this humanitarian endeavor. They are in alphabetical order:
